The Grandee Elite is Ideal's jump saddle based on their very popular Grandee GP, and it's designed primarily for the broader horse, built on the Aulton & Butler 286 tree. It's quite forward cut with decent fixed knee and calf blocks, so it's a great match for a rider who wants to jump or simply likes plenty of knee roll.

Fit & feel

Built on the Aulton & Butler 286 tree, designed for broader horses, here in an extra-wide fitting

Quite forward-cut flap, giving room for a shorter jumping stirrup

Decent fixed knee blocks plus a fixed calf block, which isn't always found on a GP, for a really secure leg

Wider twist for comfort in the saddle

Wool-flocked panels, which a fitter can adjust to fine-tune the fit as your horse changes shape

1/2 front gussets, giving support while accommodating bigger shoulders

Four fixed girth straps across point, middle and balance positions to help keep the saddle stable

Custom red piping for a smart, distinctive finish

This one suits a broad pony or cob in an extra-wide fitting, ridden by someone who loves to jump or likes a supportive knee roll.
