The Original Saddle Trial

1. Browser from 600+ saddles and add 2 to your basket.
2. Enter code "SADDLETRIAL" at checkout.
3. Complete the checkout to place your order, you will pay for shipping and the most expensive saddle as security deposit.
4. We contact you for your free saddle consultation, answer any questions you may have and dispatch your saddles.
5. Trial your saddles for up to 5 days. Make sure you ride in both saddles to compare and arrange an in-person fitting with your saddle fitter if possible.
6. At the end of your trial, we will contact you to see how you got on and arrange collection of the saddles.
7. Once we have received the saddle(s) back and inspected them, we will issue any refunds necessary.

When you checkout using code SADDLETRIAL, it will automatically take off the cost of the cheapest saddle - so you only pay for the most expensive as a security deposit. Then you simply pay £25.00 for the shipping to get the saddles out to you.

We charge a £10.00 administration fee for the trial, which is deducted from your refund. However, this is wavered if you purchase a saddle.

The cost for the collection/return shipping is £25.00, which will be deducted from your final refund.

At the end of the trial, we will issue any refunds required once the saddle(s) have been returned and inspected.

We will contact you before we ship out your saddles, to confirm a few details and ensure you get the most from your trial.

It's an short chat with one of our friendly saddle experts, so we can check if you have a fitter arranged and that the saddles you have chosen are the best for your horse and budget.

You can trial any of our Second-hand, Used, Ex-Demo or New with Tags saddles.

The only saddles which aren't available for trial are the New to Order saddles.

Our new to order saddles are ordered directly from the brands themselves, so are unavailable to trial. When you purchase a new to order saddle, it comes brand new and hasn't been trialled or sat in but it has been checked by our in-house saddle fitters.

We do have some new saddles in store, which are available for you to trial. This are still in new condition, with the original tags but may have been sat in.

For some of the adjustable brands, such as Bates, Wintec and Arena we can adjust the saddle to customise the fit using the HART systems, so you receive it exactly as you need, ready to ride.

Of course! Especially if you are looking for a performance saddle, we recommend coming and sitting in them on one of our saddle bucks in-store, to get a feel for them before you take them to trial.

At the end of the trial, we will contact you to see how you got on and arrange collection for the saddles you want to return.

The cost of the return shipping is £25.00.

Once the saddles are received back at Saddles Direct HQ, we will issue the refund via your original method of payment.

Make sure you inspect the saddle when you receive it, and notify us immediately of any unexpected damage.

You are responsible for the saddle, for the duration of the trial. Any damages to the saddle incurred during your trial will result in a deduction from any refunds due.

If the saddle is returned to us in an unsaleable condition, or damaged beyond repair it will not be accepted, and you will be liable for an additional charge of £25 for us to resend the saddle to you.

You can insure the saddle(s) for accidental damage, theft, fire, flood, etc.

If you need the saddle for a specific date for a saddle fitting, you can tell us during your saddle consultation or by adding a note to your basket.

We will do our best to accommodate your dates, but we cannot hold or reserve saddles more than a week.

Please make sure you give yourself enough time, as we cannot be held responsible for courier delays.
