This Thorowgood T4 Compact GP combines a drop panel at the front with a compact panel at the back. That gives it wither support up front while keeping it neat on a shorter back. The seat is neater than a standard GP, which makes it a favourite with petite riders. It's light, easy to care for and comfortable for everything from schooling and hacking to a bit of jumping.

100% British wool-flocked panels, which a fitter can adjust to fine-tune the fit as your horse changes shape

Changeable gullet using Thorowgood's R-Bar system: choose your gullet bar size and we'll fit it for you, and it can be swapped again later if your horse changes

Velcro adjustable knee and calf blocks, so you can position your leg support exactly where you want it

Three girth straps: a fixed point strap, a fixed middle strap and a third strap that moves between a second middle position and a balance position, giving plenty of girthing combinations to help keep the saddle stable

Durable synthetic construction that's light to carry and easy to clean

The tree is quite shapey, so this one suits a horse or pony with some shape through the back rather than a flat-backed type. It's a great match for a shorter-backed horse ridden by someone who prefers a neater seat. If your horse has a little more length to spare, try the Thorowgood T4 Original GP alongside it and compare how the longer panel and fuller seat sit and feel.
