This Lavinia Mitchell dressage saddle is a double flap design with a low, open head and full front gussets, which makes it one to try on a horse with big shoulders. A neat rear panel leaves room for a bit of shape through the back, and it's in very good condition.

Fit & feel

Neat rear panel, which can allow for a bit of shape through the back.

Velcro fittings for knee blocks. No blocks are supplied with this saddle, so you can add a pair to suit your leg length and position.

Y girthing.

Wool-flocked panels, which a fitter can adjust to fine-tune the fit as your horse changes shape.

Bench-adjustable tree, currently fitted at XW. A qualified fitter can adjust the width on a pressure bench.

Full leather.

This saddle suits a broad horse with big shoulders and a bit of shape through the back. If you're narrowing down dressage saddles for a wide horse, trial it alongside the Arena Cob Dressage. It's an adjustable option on CAIR panels with an XW to 4XW gullet, so you can compare a flocked, bench-adjustable tree with an interchangeable gullet and air panels.
