This Fairfax Elias (now sold by Fairfax as the Cara Monoflap Dressage) was designed and tested using pressure mapping and gait analysis, and is built specifically with a horse of uphill conformation in mind. The deep rear and slim front gusset shape gives the rider a balanced platform on that kind of build, while the full grain leather offers an instantly broken-in feel from day one, finished with croc-print trim on the flap, cantle and front facing.

Changeable Gullet system with R-Bar bars, adjustable across a wide range from narrow/medium to extra extra wide

Deep rear and slim front gussets, shaped to balance the rider on a horse with uphill conformation

Three-billet placement, giving a fitter two adjustment options to fine-tune the saddle's position and movement on your horse

Three thicknesses of adjustable shoulder blocks, letting a fitter put the thicker block on the side with less muscle so the rider sits square while the horse can still build even muscle underneath

Surface-mounted thigh blocks, giving extra rider support without restricting position

Performance Panel with wool flocking and a Prolite lining, allowing further reflocking adjustments as your horse changes shape

Monoflap design in full grain leather with croc-print trim, giving a close, minimal-bulk feel between horse and rider

This one suits a dressage rider on a horse with an uphill build and asymmetrical shoulder development, where the adjustable blocks and gusset shape can make a genuine difference. If you wanted to compare a moveable Velcro block instead of Fairfax's adjustable shoulder block design, the Wintec Pro Dressage is worth trialling alongside it.
