The GFS Monarch Cob GP S650 is built specifically with wider, shorter-backed horses in mind, so it's well worth a look if you've struggled to find a general purpose saddle that doesn't perch or bridge on a broader frame. A generous gullet through the centre of the saddle gives clearance either side of the spine, and the whole tree is designed around that shorter-backed, wider-bodied shape rather than being a standard GP squeezed to fit.

X-Change Gullet System with a changeable gullet bar, taking widths from Narrow through to XXXXWide (4XW), so it can move with your horse as they change shape

Front gusset to allow further fit adjustment

Wool-flocked panels, which your fitter can adjust for a more precise fit

X-Change girthing option with multiple, removable girth straps to help keep the saddle balanced and stable on wider types

This one's a strong option for cobs and other broad, short-backed horses where a standard GP tree usually isn't broad or flat enough. Depending on the support you want, you could also look at trialling against the GFS Cob Jump if you were considering something with a bit more knee roll or forward cut.

At the end of your trial, we will contact you to see how you got on and arrange collection of the saddles.
Once we have received the saddle(s) back and inspected them, we will issue any refunds necessary.
