This Kent & Masters GP is built for horses with a low-withered, flat-backed shape, the classic cob-type build, but with a bit more room to get forward for jumping or a day's hunting than the standard Cob GP allows. It'll also suit horses with a touch more wither and an average barrel, Warmbloods included, so it's a genuinely versatile option rather than a one-trick saddle.
Fit & feel
- Slightly more forward-cut flaps than the Cob GP, giving a better line for jumping
- Velcro knee and calf blocks under the flap, so support can be repositioned to suit leg length, especially handy when you shorten your stirrups for jumping
- Low-headed, flatter tree shape to follow a low-withered, flat-backed profile
- Changeable S-Bar gullet system, so a fitter can adjust the width as needed
- Four girthing options, giving good flexibility to fine-tune stability
- Traditional wool-flocked panels for a supportive, adjustable fit
This one suits a rider whose horse is cob-shaped but wants a bit more scope for jumping than a standard Cob GP gives. If your horse doesn't need that extra forward cut, the Kent & Masters Original Cob GP is worth comparing alongside it.
As ever, that's a starting point for narrowing things down rather than a fit guarantee, so we'd recommend trialling it alongside an appointment with a fitter to see how it sits on your horse.
