We're hiring for a Shop & Customer Service Assistant
Myerscough Equine Arena | 5 days per week (flexible hours) | £12.71 per hour
We're looking for a friendly, reliable all-rounder to join our small team at Myerscough Equine Arena. This is a brilliant opportunity to grow into saddle consultancy work if it interests you, while being brilliant at the day-to-day stuff that keeps our shop running smoothly.
What you'll be doing
Day to day, you'll be the face (and voice) of Saddles Direct for our customers, in the shop, on the phone and online:
- Customer service across phone, email/online and in person, helping riders with orders, queries and general saddle chat
- Managing the fitting diary, booking in and coordinating appointments with our fitters

Shop assistant duties, serving customers and keeping things running smoothly in the shop
- Cleaning and preparing saddles ready for sale or return

Packing and shipping saddles to customers around the world
Depending on your experience, there's also scope to get involved in:

Saddle consultancy, helping riders assess fit from home ahead of an in-person trial
- Saddle valuations, giving customers a fair, informed steer on what their saddle is worth
If saddle knowledge isn't your background, don't worry, it's a "nice to have" for this role, not a must. We'll train you on the practical side either way, and there's real potential to grow into the fitting and valuations side over time if that's something you're interested in.
What we're looking for
Attitude matters more to us than a long CV. We're looking for:

A warm, patient, genuinely helpful person
- Good equestrian knowledge, essential, you'll need to know your way around horses, riding and tack to talk confidently with our customers
- Comfortable juggling customer service, phone calls and hands-on shop tasks in the same day
- Reliable and happy to commit to 5 days a week on-site at Myerscough
- Saddle knowledge or fitting/valuation experience is an advantage, but not essential, we'll train you up
Hours & location
- 5 days per week, based at our shop at Myerscough Equine Arena
- Flexible on which days/hours where possible, happy to discuss what works for you
- Pay: £12.71 per hour
